Nominator's project description
| Dr. Ellis is well-known internationally for his outstanding research in the theory of strong interactions and related topics in physics of elementary particles and quantum field theory. He has made important contributions to the understanding of Quantum Chromodynamics and to the development of theoretical methods that allow us to describe strong forces in a quantitative way. During his stay in Germany, he continues his work on refining theoretical description of complex processes at the Large Hadron Collider and, in particular, on studying properties of the newly-discovered Higgs particle using subtle quantum mechanical effects. |
